Mobile Dental Program

QueensCare’s Mobile Dental Program (MDP) continues to provide much-needed services to children in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The Mobile Dental Program operates in partnership with the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in fully equipped dental trailers, including a state-of-the-art trailer dubbed, “Whitening McQueen,” by its elementary school patients. Whitening McQueen is the largest mobile dental unit in the world, providing a full range of FREE dental services to thousands of children each year.

The trailers visit qualifying LAUSD elementary schools in QueensCare’s Primary Service Areas on a rotating basis. Throughout the year, the program provides a full range of free dental services, including exams, fillings, teeth cleaning, and sealants. Mobile Vision Program

Vision problems in children occur most often during the middle school years. To help address this need, QueensCare has worked with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) since 1999 to provide on-campus free eye care to select middle schools, where 75% or more of the students qualify for the federal free or reduced lunch program.

Every year, the Mobile Vision Program visits many LAUSD schools and Catholic schools. Free screenings and eye exams by QueensCare optometrists result in thousands of prescriptions for glasses, and all are provided free to the student.
