QueensCare Receives Recognition from Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors

LOS ANGELES (September 9, 2008) – At the Board of Supervisors meeting on September 9, 2008, Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke presented QueensCare with an official Commendation in recognition of its commitment to providing quality, accessible healthcare for uninsured and low-income working individuals and families.

Supervisors Yvonne B. Burke, Gloria Molina, Zev Yaroslavsky, Don Knabe and Michael D. Antonovich of the County of Los Angeles commemorated QueensCare for its achievements in celebration of its 10 year anniversary and dedicated service to the community. June 13, 2008 marked QueensCare’s official 10th Anniversary.

“We are very honored to have the Board of Supervisors recognize QueensCare for our hard work and efforts,” said Terry Bonecutter, President and CEO of QueensCare. “Being able to provide those in need with high quality care through our seamless system of care is possible through our partners and friends such as the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.”

By partnering with QueensCare Family Clinics and its 7 clinic sites, QueensCare is able to provide healthcare to persons residing in Los Angeles, regardless of their ability to pay. As faith-based organizations, QueensCare and QueensCare Family Clinics are able to offer healthcare services that include initial outreach, hospitalization, preventive, primary and specialty care. The seven clinics located throughout Los Angeles have become a healthcare home for the working poor. With more than 3 million uninsured persons residing in Los Angeles, QueensCare is working to make a difference.
